Ómar Berg Rúnarsson holds a LL.M degree in EU law from Panthéon-Assas University (Paris II) France, and a bachelor’s and master’s degree in law from Reykjavik University, Iceland. He has previously worked as a Legal Officer at the EFTA Surveillance Authority in Brussels (ESA), and taught law at Reykjavik University. His PhD-project concentrates on the status of fundamental social rights in EU/EEA labour law, specifically developments in secondary legislation.

Ómar's research will be related to WP3 Labour Law, and he will be supervised by associate professor Melanie Hack.
