The application amount is usually up to USD 500,000 per year. There are three annual application deadlines: February 5, June 5, and October 5, until 2027.

Note:

Many of the previously canceled research funds are now available again after a federal judge recently overturned several directives from the central administration that led to the cancellation of the research funding. Those considering applying for funding from the NIH should stay informed through the media and the official websites for any changes in funding.

HORIZON-HLTH-2025-01-DISEASE-07. Tackling high-burden for patients and underresearched medical conditions.

Scope: 

A number of medical conditions fail to be recognised and/or be correctly diagnosed in a significant proportion of patients. As a consequence, they are inadequately treated and often can become a chronic and high burden for the patient. These medical conditions, including:

  1. myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome,
  2. autism,
  3. gynaecological diseases,
  4. low back pain,
  5. other

may be insufficiently researched even though they manifest with high prevalence.

Female Heart - Mechanistic Research Grants

Female Heart - Mechanistic Research Grants is a funding call from the Novo Nordisk Foundation that supports research into the biological mechanisms underlying sex differences in cardiovascular disease. The aim is to strengthen understanding of why these diseases manifest differently in women through international collaboration anchored in the Nordic countries.
