For many years, medical research has primarily been based on studies of men. This has resulted in many medical treatments and diagnoses not taking into account the unique differences between women and men. The discussion addressed why it is crucial to include women in medical research and how gender differences can influence the outcomes.

Questions that were highlighted:

  • How far have we actually come in this field?
  • What challenges do we face?
  • What does the path forward look like to ensure women's health in research?

Conversations like these are important steps on the journey toward more inclusive and equitable medical research. Thanks to the Norwegian Cancer Society and the Cancer Society's Vitensenter for an engaging and informative morning!
