Urban Transitions (external link) is an interdisciplinary conference that brought together experts in urban planning, architecture, transport planning, and public health to tackle the challenges of urbanization and climate change. The conference emphasized the need for innovative solutions in environmental science, exposure assessment, and policy-making to address the issues of pollution, health inequality, and sustainable urban development. The focus was on aligning efforts to achieve healthier urban living conditions in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (external link) and the New Urban Agenda (external link).
GAP´s participation in the Urban Transitions 2024 conference enriched our understanding and expanded our perspective within the realm of environmental and respiratory epidemiology. This participation also provided key insights into the complex interplay between urban environments and public health.
