Summer Internship at Reservoir Physics
The Reservoir Physics research group at the University of Bergen welcomed Pierre-Marie Duclos, a 23-year-old engineering student from the École des Mines de Saint-Étienne in France, for a 3-month internship this summer as part of his 2nd year of studies in energy processes.

During his stay, Pierre-Marie worked with Dr. Na Liu and PhD-student Frank Viveros Acosta on microfluidic studies of biogeochemical interactions involving hydrogen, sulfate-reducing bacteria (SRB), and porous media. He developed a new image analysis method using machine learning to segment crystals, gas, and biofilms from experimental image data — a valuable contribution to the group's ongoing research.
We thank Pierre-Marie for his excellent work during the internship and wishes him continued success in his studies and career!
