Identifying the Heart of the Work: The Challenges and Benefits of AI in Higher Ed
This very exciting TeLEd event will feature Matthew Russell from the University of Texas at Austin, where he is an Education Consultant in the Center for Teaching and Learning and Lecturer in the Jefferson Center for the Study of Core Texts and Ideas. He holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and works with faculty to support the use of technology in teaching, learning, and research. He has developed the CTL's Generative AI in Teaching and Learning online toolkit. He also leads the Students-as-Partners initiative, focusing on supporting teams of faculty and student in exploring innovation across the curriculum. Matt has also worked with the UiB Program for University Pedagogy.
In this session, Matt will talk about recent research into the use of AI in higher education and explore possibilities for integrating AI into our courses in an ethical and critical way. He will also look at the promises and challenges presented by AI and offer new conceptualizations for addressing these.
