Olympus Slide-scanner microscope

Olympus VS120 S6 Slide scanner was installed 2018 and funded by the Faculty of Medicine. It is dedicated for scanning microscopy slides of tissue preparations stained with histochemistry (HC), immunohistochemistry (IHC) or immunofluorescence (IF). Six slides can be mounted on the stage at the time.

Quad-band filter with the following excitation (ex) and emission (em) bandpasses: 

  • Blue: ex 340-380, em 430-480
  • Green: ex 480-500, em 507-543
  • Red: ex 543-586, em 579-631
  • Far red: ex 630-660, em 669-741
Viewing and analysis

QuPath: A powerful freeware that opens VSI-files (raw format from the slide scanner). It is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. This is a software under continous development, so make sure that you occasionally check for updates.
