Childrearing in a multicultural perspective in Norway

This PhD project explores how Southern European migrant parents negotiate identity, sense of belongingness, as well as norms and ideals for childrearing through their parenting.

About the research project

This project aimed to explore how notions of parenting and childhood travel across borders and interact with local understandings pertaining to childrearing. Through interviews and focus group discussions with 20 Southern European  migrant parents, Herrero-Arias explored how these parents negotiate identity, sense of belongingness, as well as norms and ideals for childrearing through their parenting.
