About the research project

EMBRC-Norway has seven partners. These have research infrastructures – such as field stations, laboratories, analytical equipment, and algae cultures – that facilitate experiments with marine organisms to study how they respond to changes in the marine environment. The Norwegian facilities are focused on studies of organisms that are important for fisheries and aquaculture.

EMBRC-Norway offers European researchers and companies access to our research infrastructures in Norway, and through collaboration, our own researchers gain access to a range of European research infrastructures. See an oversight over services offered through EMBRC here. EMBRC ERIC

EMBRC-European Research Infrastructure Consortium (ERIC) is a pan-European research infrastructure for advanced marine biology and ecology research. With its services, it aims to answer fundamental questions regarding:

  • Understanding the pressures on marine life
  • Enabling new innovative technologies
  • Promoting the sustainable use of marine resources

EMBRC-ERIC is a driving force in the development of blue biotechnologies, supporting both fundamental and applied research activities for sustainable solutions in the food, health, and environmental sectors.
