Project Description

The PhD project is embedded in Work Package 4 of the ENDOTRAIN network “Legal and ethical aspects of AI tools”. It aims at analyzing the ethical issues of algorithmic health in general and more particularly digital twins in a biomedical environment and at developing and ethics by design approach.

Research field: Bioethics, ethics of AI 

Secondments  : this PhD involves secondments with other teams of the consortium 

Doctoral Programme

The candidate should work full-time on the project and must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in France for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately before their recruitment date.

The PhD student will be enrolled in the PhD programme at Université Côte d’Azur in France 

As a PhD candidate you must carry out an independent research project which will result in a scientific dissertation. You will also have to complete a training component and courses. 

Qualifications
  • The candidate must hold a master in philosophy and more particularly in moral and political philosophy.
  • The candidate must be able to read, speak and write in English. 
  • A good level in French language is an asset. 
  • Expertise in bioethics or ethics of AI is an asset.
  • An interest in interdisciplinary and international collaborative work and motivation to pursue an academic career.
  • Applicants must be able to work independently and in a structured manner and to collaborate with others. 
  • Applicants must include a certified translation to English or French if the original diplomas, transcripts, and additional documentation are not in one of these languages.
