GHIG PhD seminars
About the GHIG PhD seminar series
GHIG has had a tradition for many years that the GHIG seminars were coordinated by PhDs for PhDs. The seminars took place the last Thursday of the month, and were alternating between Alrek and C12. In 2025 GHIG started a collaboration with PsykSTIP, who now are responsible for organizing and coordinating the PhD-seminars, while GHIG supports them with administrative and economic resources. The seminars are a wonderful place for meeting colleagues and listen to interesting presentations that are relevant to you as a PhD. All PhDs are invited to the seminars.
History
GHIG's PhD seminars started in 2006, but were only partly coordinated by PhDs until 2016, after which they were solely responsible for the seminar series. The seminars have been an important arena for dissemination training for GHIG PhDs, as well as giving an opportunity to delve into relevant topics which were not covered by the graduate schools course portfolio. The seminars where structured in a way that gave PhDs, after attending at least 10 seminars and presenting at one of them, the opportunity to gain 1 ECT. The seminar series was on hiatus during 2020-2022, but was resumed in 2023.
