Course description

Objectives and Content

The course gives an introduction to fish parasitology, with emphasis on parasite problems in cultured fish. Morphology, lifecycles, pathology and epizootiological aspects are dealt with. Diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment will be described. The course has a limited number of places. Students accepted to master¿s programmes at the Department of Biology will be given priority.

Learning Outcomes

The course aims to provide an understanding of parasitic diseases of fish in aquaculture, promote correct diagnoses and appropriate control measures.

Semester of Instruction

Autumn. This is a course with limited capacity.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance
Laboratory course, assigments and oral presentation.Approved mandatory activities are valid for 6 semesters.
Forms of Assessment
Oral and compulsory assignments.
Grading Scale
The grading scale used is A to F. Grade A is the highest passing grade in the grading scale, grade F is a fail.
