Course description

Objectives and Content

The course provides a basic introduction to the use of the workshop’s machines, with particular emphasis on safety and work procedures. It is mandatory for anyone who wishes to access the workshop area.

The training lasts one day and includes both general information about the workshop and its operations, as well as hands-on instruction with relevant machines. Participants will carry out simple exercises and tasks related to the use of machines, tools, and materials.

Required equipment: safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses. Clothing must either be short-sleeved or fit tightly around the wrists. Long hair must be tied up.

Due to high demand, the course must be relevant to and integrated into the student’s study plan. Approval and workshop access are granted only upon completion of the safety course.

Autumn and spring.

Place of Instruction

Attendance: Wood Workshop 1, Møllendalsveien 61. Students must bring their own required personal protective equipment. Be on time.
Access to the Course
The course is open to students enrolled in study programs at the Department of Design.
