UBAS – University of Bergen Archaeological Series
UBAS is the museum's peer-reviewed archaeological series, with books and themed volumes covering topics from the Stone Age to the Middle Ages. You can read the articles in the National Research Archive.
Archaeological reports
The report series (ISSN 1504-6869) documents archaeological excavations and investigations in Western Norway, including settlements from the pre-Roman Iron Age and Bronze Age, and ironworking sites.

Rock art reports
The rock art reports (ISSN 1500-3515) address the protection, weathering and conservation of rock art, with examples from Vingen and Alta, among other sites.

Books on rock art
The museum's researchers have published several books on Norwegian rock art, including 'Et naturens kolossalmuseum for helleristninger' (2016, Akademika forlag) about the rock carving site at Vingen, and 'Bergkunst. Helleristningar i Noreg' (2005, Det Norske Samlaget). An English edition, 'The Rock Art of Norway', has been published by Windgather Press.
