School and kindergarten visits

Are you bringing a school class, kindergarten group or group of children to the University Museum? The museum offers teaching programmes linked to the curriculum for all levels, and school visits are free for all schools and kindergartens. Here you will find the programmes and how to book.

What can the class do at the museum?

Our teaching offer spans from kindergarten to upper secondary school.

We support active, exploratory learning through a range of methods and approaches to the subject matter.

The programmes are adapted to different target groups and are based on current curricula and frameworks.

School visits are free for public schools and kindergartens.

  • Classes wishing to visit us outside our teaching programmes are welcome during the museum's opening hours.
  • Explore the exhibitions independently or follow one of our discovery trails.
  • Please let us know in advance if you are coming with a group of more than 50 people.

Would you like a guided tour?

We can offer guided tours for groups of up to 30 people.

Groups outside the school system pay for their visit. Contact us for pricing at publikum@um.uib.no

If you're visiting the museum with your own family, you'll find activities and tips at Children and families

If you'd like to experience the gardens, the Arboretum and Bergen Botanical Garden offer their own guided tours at Milde.

Practical information for groups with children

If you're coming with a group of children, we recommend at least one adult for every ten children.

If you're a large group (more than 50 people) or have special requirements, please let us know well in advance so we can plan for your visit.
