Elise tok en mastergrad i molekylærbiologi ved University of Bergen, hvor hun studerte sammenhengen mellom aldrende celler og Parkinsons sykdom. Hun tar for tiden en doktorgrad ved Senter for Alders- og Sykehjemsmedisin (SEFAS) på prosjektet "ActiveAgeing". Hennes doktorgrad fokuserer på nye bomiljøer for eldre voksne og implementering av smartteknologi for denne aldersgruppen.
