Jeg forsker både innenfor moderne filosofihistorie og samtidsfilosofi. For tiden er mitt fokus på temaer som (post)kolonialisme, (anti)rasisme, og kollektivt minne.
Forskning

I filosofihistorien har jeg jobbet med ulike aspekter ved klassisk tysk filosofi, inkludert Kants moralpsykologi, Hegels metafysikk, sinnsfilosofi og moralfilosofi, og Fichtes epistemologi. De siste årene har jeg i samarbeid med Daniel James forsket på spørsmål om rase og kolonialisme i moderne filosofi, spesielt hos Hegel og svarte radikale tenkere som Angela Davis, Frantz Fanon og Edouard Glissant (hegelantikolonial.wordpress.com). 

I samtidsfilosofien er jeg særlig interessert i kritisk teori og postkolonial tenkning, med fokus på temaer som marginalisering, rasisme og kollektivt minne. Jeg har også arbeidet innenfor sinnsfilosofi og psykologiens filosofi, om temaer som selvviten og patologier ved selvbevissthet.

Jeg har publisert i tiddskrifter som Journal of the History of Philosophy, European Journal of Philosophy, Synthese, og Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences

Ved Institutt for filosofi og førstesemesterstudier organiserer jeg "Critical Theory Bergen" (sammen med Christopher Senf). Gruppen samler forskere og viderekomne studenter med interesse for kritisk samfunnsteori i bred forstand, og er tilknyttet Forskergruppen for praktisk filosofi.
