Med en bakgrunn fra seismologi og studier av jordskjelvrisiko er min forskning nå bredt fokusert på geofarer, inkludert studier av jordskjelv, tsunamirisiko og skred utløst av jordskjelv.

Jeg er for tiden involvert i studer innen:

Undervisning

Undervisning:

Jeg er en engasjert underviser med et mål om å motivere og skape engasjement hos studentene mine. Jeg er overbevist om at studenter lærer best når de er motivert, engasjert og undervises i et studentaktivt læringsmiljø.

Jeg leder utviklingen av et nasjonalt kurs i geofare som undervises ved universitetene i Bergen, Oslo og Tromsø siden 2020. Ved UiB tilbys kurset under emnekoden GEOV217 - Geofarar. Det nasjonale kurset bygger på et kurs jeg etablerte ved UiB i 2016 og er utviklet med bidrag fra mer enn 20 geofare eksperter fra hele Norge.

Undervisnings-relaterte utmerkelser og priser:

  • I 2021 ble jeg tildelt den pedagogiske kompetansegraden Fremragende underviser ved Universitetet i Bergen.
  • I 2017 vant jeg Læringsmiljøprisen ved Universitetet i Bergen for mitt arbeid med emnet GEOV217 - Geofarar.
