Forskning
Rebecca har mer enn 30 års erfaring innen influensaforskning. Nøkkelkompetansen til influensasenteret er utvikling og klinisk evaluering av nye og pandemiske vaksiner, samt kohortstudier av infiserte pasienter med fokus på immunologiske responser med langsiktig oppfølging.
Formidling
Rebecca vant Meltzer-prisen for fremragende forskningsformidling i 2022 som en anerkjennelse for sitt arbeid innen offentlig formidling. Hun bidrar ofte til nyheter gjennom intervjuer og kronikker på TV, radio, i avisene, på nettet og magasiner om COVID-19, influensa og vaksiner, inkludert >400 medieintervjuer under COVID-pandemien.
Undervisning
Rebecca deltar aktivt i undervisningen i virologi, immunologi og vaksinologi for studenter og doktorgradsstudenter (master og doktorgrad, leger under spesialisering) innen medisin, farmasi, odontologi og cellebiologi. Hun leder utdanningsutvalget for det lærde samfunnet Influensa og andre luftveisvirus.
