Jeg er Professor i botanikk og faglig ansvarlig for Arboretet i Universitetshagen, som er en del av Universitetsmuseet. Jeg bruker systematisk forskning på forvaltning av levende plantesamlinger for å fremme kunnskap om biologisk mangfold og bevaring av truede arter.
Forskning
Jeg forsker på plantesystematikk og evolusjon, og har spesialisert meg spesielt på blomsterplanteslekten Erica (Ericaceae) og familien Annonaceae. Mitt kuratoransvar omfatter Arboretet som helhet, med fokus på våre forsknings- og bevaringssamlinger, særlig av Ericaceae og Rosaceae, og gjennom engasjement i nettverk som Global Conservation Consortia (GCC) i Botanic Gardens Conservation International, som jeg koordinerer GCC Erica for.
