Quantum Science Meets Biomedicine: small particles, big possibilities
Welcome to the annual Research Day at the Faculty of Medicine! Important scientific advances have come from researchers who identified exciting new fields at an early stage and were willing to explore them. During this year’s research day, we ask: could quantum medicine be the next big thing in medical research?
We will explore the path from scientific ideas to innovation and societal impact within our field, before turning to quantum technologies and their potential applications.
In 2025, the University of Bergen established Bergen Centre for Quantum Technology centre. In this event, staff from the centre will introduce quantum technology and discuss emerging applications in medical research, ranging from biomarker detection and sensor technology to quantum-enabled computation.
Perhaps you will come away with an idea for a new project of your own, or perhaps you would just like to learn a little more about quantum technologies – in any case, we hope to see you there!
