Research project

The core of the PhD programme is an independent research project that leads to a doctoral thesis. You will develop new knowledge within your field in close collaboration with your supervisors and the research community at your department. Training component

The training component (30 to 60 credits) is a mandatory part of the PhD programme. It supports your work on the thesis through dissemination activities, courses in theory and methods, and specialised academic training. Public defence

Once your thesis has been approved, you complete the PhD programme with a trial lecture and a public defence. Here, you present and defend your research.
