Gjøri Marie Haugen holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Comparative Politics from the University of Bergen.

She works as a research assistant on the planning and implementation of the European Social Survey (ESS) in Norway, with a primary focus on coordination, administrative follow-up, and research communication.

As part of KODEM, she contributes to communication and public engagement activities.

Her academic interests lie at the intersection of technology and democracy, with a particular focus on attitudes toward the use of artificial intelligence in public administration.

Gjøri Marie is responsible for the ESS Norway website, including publishing news articles and producing demonstration videos that show how users can work with ESS data in their own projects and in teaching.

She has also contributed to the development of research resources for the The Holberg School Programme, where ESS data are adapted for use in teaching and student projects at the upper secondary school level.
