Research
Ole J. Martinsen is a Norwegian geologist with extensive experience from industry after a 33-year long career with Equinor, and in applied geoscience. His work spans research and industry leadership roles such as Chief Geologist, VP in exploration and investment project reviews at the corporate level including all value chains from oil and gas to low carbon solutions to renewables and critical minerals. He has complemented his industry leadership roles with a long track record of integrating field observations, subsurface data, and geological models to support exploration and development decisions. He has contributed to the development and application of sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy and source-to-sink thinking and has published widely in international, peer-reviewed journals and books.
