Stay tuned for UiB's spring semester Welcome Programme 2026!

The programme will introduce you to different aspects of being a student in Bergen. It is an excellent opportunity to meet other international students, as well as asking any questions you might have to UiB staff members.  Attendance is not mandatory, but we highly encourage all new international students to participate. 

Introductiory meeting at the Student Centre

We will hold an introductory meeting for new international students in the auditorium "Egget" at the Student Centre.

We have divided you into two groups depending on which faculty you will be studying at.

In addition to receiving practical information, you will meet a Norwegian student, learn more about the student welfare organisation Sammen (external link) and how to hike safely in the Norwegian nature. The programme will last approximately 3,5 hours.

Tuesday, 6 January, 10 am to 3 pm

You meet on this date if you are going to study at one of the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Social Sciences
  • Faculty of Psychology
  • Faculty of Science and Technology 
Wednesday, 7 January, 10 am to 3 pm

You meet on this date if you are going to study at one of the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Law
  • Faculty of Medicine
  • Faculty of Humanities 
  • Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design

Meet your faculty

The faculty meetings will be held the same week as the Introductiory meeting. The date and time will however vary depending on which faculty you belong to. The details will be given in December.
