Service declaration on student welfare

Together with the university, the Student Welfare Organisation for Western Norway (Sammen) offers a wide range of welfare services for students. These include student housing, cafeterias, gyms, counselling services, a student chaplain, nurseries, health services (including dental care), and career guidance.

Sammen’s responsibilities for student welfare:

  • To provide clear and accessible information on available student housing at any given time via the Sammen website and public notices
  • To offer a convenient, nutritious, and affordable food service
  • To provide opportunities for physical activity and organised sports
  • To offer social counselling and mental health services, including in English
  • To maintain a well-stocked and up-to-date academic bookshop where you can find required course literature
  • To run high-quality kindergartens adapted to the needs of student parents
  • To support a wide range of voluntary student activities

Sammen expects you as a student to

  • follow the guidelines for living in student housing and help create a positive and welcoming living environment
  • clean up after yourself in cafeterias and shared spaces

Sammen tilrår at du som student

  • seek out information about the services available to you, including deadlines and relevant rules
  • show a positive attitude and contribute to maintaining a good sporting environment, both in terms of facilities and community
  • get in touch with a social counselor when you need support
