Who can apply?
All participants in the Polyfon cluster may apply for funding for events and other dissemination projects.
What funding can be applied for?
You may apply for funding for a range of dissemination activities, such as the production of films, brochures and other communication materials. Funding may also be used to support events, including speaker fees, travel and accommodation for contributors, venue hire and catering.
The scheme also includes funding for seminars held in connection with the Polyfon Conference.
Applications should be justified by needs arising from a field of practice. This is interpreted broadly and may, for example, include activities focusing on practice-based professional critique and/or seminars aimed at developing new collaborative relationships.
How applications are assessed
Quality is a key criterion in the assessment of applications. At the same time, applications are considered in light of the overall development needs of the knowledge cluster.
Projects that involve collaboration between two or more cluster participants and/or collaboration with service users or family carers are regarded as particularly valuable.
For projects involving service user representatives, family carers or others with lived experience expertise, applicants are encouraged to consult Polyfon’s guide to service user and family involvement, which provides information on good practice in collaborative involvement.
Requirements for the application
Applications must be submitted through the online application form.
The application must include:
- a summary of the project or event (50–200 words). If funding is awarded, this summary will be published on Polyfon’s website
- contact details for the contact person (name, telephone number and email address)
- the responsible cluster participant
- details of the applicant’s immediate manager (name, telephone number and email address)
- the title of the dissemination project or event
- the target audience(s)
- a brief description of how the project or event addresses needs within a field of practice and, where relevant, how it may promote collaboration (maximum 300 words)
- a simple timeline for the dissemination project (maximum 100 words)
- the amount requested (between NOK 2,000 and NOK 20,000)
- the applicant’s own contribution in the form of working hours and/or a financial contribution
- budget details
In addition, applicants must upload an email from their immediate manager confirming approval of the application. See Economy and organisational anchoring for further information.
Economy and organisational anchoring
The amount requested must normally be between NOK 2,000 and NOK 20,000, although higher amounts may be considered in exceptional cases. For the call with an application deadline of 1 October, a total of NOK 100,000 is available for distribution.
As a general rule, the cluster participant is expected to provide an in-kind contribution, in the form of working hours and/or financial resources, equivalent to at least the amount requested.
Applications must be approved by the management of the relevant cluster participant. As part of the online application process, applicants must upload an email confirming that the specific application has been approved and that the cluster participant accepts responsibility for ensuring that any issues relating to data protection and ethics are properly addressed.
If funding is awarded, the grant will be paid to the applicant’s cluster participant organisation, which will be responsible for administering the funds.
Dissemination
For events, the following applies:
- Applicants must send information about the event to Polyfon as soon as possible after funding has been awarded, so that the event can be promoted through Polyfon’s calendar and Facebook page.
- Polyfon should be invited to contribute to the academic planning of the event.
- Applicants must acknowledge Polyfon’s support, preferably through the use of the Polyfon logo.
For films, brochures and similar materials, the following applies:
- Polyfon may use the film, brochure or other materials in its own activities.
- As a general rule, films, brochures and similar resources should be made available on the cluster’s website so that they can contribute to the sharing of knowledge and experience across the cluster.
- Applicants must acknowledge Polyfon’s support by using the Polyfon logo in films, brochures and other relevant materials.
