Instron 5966 Universal Testing Machine – Biomatlab

In 2025, the Instron 5966-series universal testing machine at Biomatlab was upgraded with a modern operator dashboard and the latest software, enhancing usability and precision.

The system is capable of applying forces up to 10 kN, as well as accurately measuring low forces in the sub-newton range. It supports both tensile and compressive testing modes. Key features include an optical, non-contact extensometer and a temperature-controlled chamber, allowing for advanced testing conditions.

This equipment is specifically designed for mechanical characterization of a wide range of biomaterials, including bone, tendons, and soft tissues, supporting cutting-edge research in biomechanics and biomedical engineering.
