Bioinformatics in Bergen Conference 2025

On June 2nd and 3rd 2025, the UiB’s Computational Biology Unit (CBU) organized the Bioinformatics in Bergen conference (BiB) at the beautiful Solstrand Hotel in Osøyro, bringing together around 70 bioinformaticians from and outside of Bergen.

The two-day program was packed with scientific talks including two keynote lectures, a panel discussion, 14 oral presentations, and 26 posters. Three PhD students from our group (Abdelhamid Aboulnaga, Alberto Memè, and Ovidiu Todoran) presented posters about their structure-based drug discovery projects. Additionally, Ovidiu gave an oral presentation about the first steps in his project on validating molecular docking models for the design of RNA-ligands.

All in all, the conference presented a nice opportunity for bioinformaticians to meet and discuss hot topics in their fields, all while enjoying beautiful views of the Norwegian fjords.
