BFS-prosjekt: Earth System Interactions and Information Transfer (2013-2017) - Bjarte Hannisdal

This project seeks new fundamental insights into the coupling between Earth system components (lithosphere-hydrosphere-atmosphere-biosphere) across time scales. Understanding such interconnections is crucial for global environmental projections, including climate tipping points, ocean acidification, sea level rise, biodiversity loss and mass extinctions. Hannisdal's research group works on developing and testing data-driven techniques for quantifying complex interactions directly from observations, and applies these methods to geological records of Earth system history on time scales ranging from thousands to hundreds of millions of years. Duration January 2013–January 2017
