MemBrain participated with posters and presentations, as well as with organization. Anette Siggervåg (PhD student), Alessia Caiella (PhD student) and Cheryl Oortwijn (Erasmus internship student) participated with a poster, while Henriette Aksnes (MemBrain leader) participated with a presentation. Furthermore, Aksnes was part of the organization and member of the scientific committee, recruiting distinguished international speakers with relevant research in the cell biology field, while Caiella took part in event organization prior and during the contact meeting.

The Norwegian Bioscience Society (NBS)

The Norwegian Bioscience Society (NBS) is a FEBS Constituent Society, as one of the founding members of FEBS and is also member of the IUBMB and EFB.

NBS aims to be a scientific and social forum for scientists and students of biology in Norway. 

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • NBS annual meeting (the “Contact meeting” in January).
  • Quarterly newsletter (“NBS-nytt”) containing scientific articles, society and political matters, announcements of meetings and courses as well as commercial advertisements. 
  • Offers student travel fellowships to international meetings and organise scientific seminars and social meetings in the five university towns Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim, Tromsø and Ås.
