Neuropsychological Deep Phenotyping Group (NdP)
The Neuropsychological Deep Phenotyping Group (NdP) conducts research across a broad spectrum of somatic and neuropsychiatric conditions. Our aim is to tailor treatments to person-specific and multidimensional (deep) health profiles across different life stages. In interdisciplinary teams, we primarily contribute expertise in the assessment and analysis of cognitive, emotional, and social functions.
About the research group
Over the years, the NdP group has contributed to studies exploring symptoms associated with ADHD and other neuropsychiatric and neurological conditions. More recently, our interests have expanded to include disorders of the gut-brain interaction (DGBIs), and participation in treatment studies that encompass adults with ADHD, frail older adults and adults showing early signs of Alzheimer's disease.
Methodologically, we employ a range of assessment tools, from traditional paper-and-pencil tests, questionnaires/interviews, to computerized testing and sensor data, with a goal of integrating and jointly analyze data from various sources.
With a holistic perspective on health and the application of new technology, the NdP group works to contribute to the development of clinical neuropsychology through teaching, research, and clinical practice.
Projects
The Bergen Child Study
The Bergen Child study (BCS) is a longitudinal research project that examines various aspects of child psychology, behavior, and social development by following participants from early school age through their college years
ERA-NET: DynAMoND
The DynAMoND (Dynamics of affect Modulation in neurodevelopmental Disorders) project is a longitudinal study examining emotional dysregulation and affective state fluctuations in three neurodevelopmental disorders: ADHD, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder

Memory for music (M4M)
Memory for Music (M4M) is a research project evaluating the effects of musical training on cognitive abilities in home-dwelling non-musicians with Alzheimer's disease.
NADage
The NADage study is a phase II randomized clinical trial testing whether oral nicotinamide riboside (NR) supplementation can prevent or delay cognitive decline and increase physical capacity in frail elderly individuals by enhancing brain NAD-metabolism.
Bergen-Brain-Gut study
The Brain-Gut-Microbiota study is a multidisciplinary research project investigating the complex relationships between brain function, gastrointestinal motility, and gut microbiota in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). NPG is responsible for a work package on cognition and emotion.
