Welcome to the University of Bergen

Thank you very much! I am really excited to join the group!

Can you tell us a bit about yourself, as well as your academic background?

My name is Trygve Tegnander and I come from Trondheim. I did my master's degree in industrial mathematics at the NTNU in Trondheim. My master thesis focused on efficient solving of finite volume solvers for hyperbolic conservation laws, with the use of parallel processing and GPUs. I also have completed an internship at Sintef Digital where I worked on AR visualization connected to the FluidFlower project.

Can you tell us a bit about your project?

My PhD project will be a part of the CSSR project. I will focus on numerical solutions of the Wasserstein distance, as it will be used to better compare and quantify the quality of both experiments and numerical simulations of flow in porous media. I will be working under the supervision of Jakub Wiktor Both, Jan Martin Nordbotten and Geir Ersland.
