The European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP). The association primarily gathers professors and associate professors of tax law, but the conference is also open to PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, and other academics. 

The 2025 conference took place from 19–21 June at the University of Bergen, focusing on “Taxation of Property”. A total of 164 tax law researchers from around the world participated.

The conference opened on Thursday with the general assembly at the Faculty of Law, followed by a reception and opening ceremony at Håkonshallen, where Øystein Hellesøe Brekke gave a lecture on the Hanseatic era.

Friday’s academic program was held in the University Aula and included a series of presentations and panel discussions based on national reports from the participating countries. Professor Michal Radvan (Masaryk University) served as general reporter and led the comparative discussions. The conference dinner took place at Fløirestauranten.

The final day, Saturday, was held at the Faculty of Law. The EATLP Award for Best Doctoral Dissertation was presented to Erika Isabella Scuderi for her dissertation The Taxation of Outer Space Activities under Domestic International Tax Law: A Principled and Normative Tax Policy Evaluation. She also presented her work to the conference participants. In addition, Professor Judith Freedman (University of Oxford) gave a lecture on developments in tax law research and teaching.

The conference was marked by good weather, a lively atmosphere, and high academic quality. Many participants combined their stay with further travel in Norway.
