Endotrain kickoff
We are pleased to announce that the Endotrain Principal Investigator (PI) Meeting will take place at Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen.
Meeting Details
Arrival & Dinner:
Please plan to arrive on Thursday, 22 January, as there will be a welcome dinner Thursday evening—a great opportunity to get acquainted.
Additional Planning Session:
If you are involved in planning clinical studies and wish to meet earlier, we can arrange this on Thursday. In that case, you may want to arrive Wednesday evening (21 January).
Main Meeting:
Friday, 23 January 2026
Starts in the morning and concludes in the afternoon.
Flight schedules have been checked, and even destinations like Athens can be reached with late afternoon departures from Bergen Flesland Airport.
Each PI may bring one colleague if needed, but preferably not more to keep the meeting small and focused
Eligible Costs
The project start date in the Grant Agreement is 1 January 2026.
Our first consortium meeting in Bergen (22–23 January 2026) is clearly within the project duration.
According to Horizon Europe rules, travel to the kick-off meeting is an eligible cost, even if tickets are booked (and, if necessary, paid) before the start date, as long as:
- The meeting takes place during the project period.
- The travel can be clearly linked to the project.
You may therefore book your travel now. Please follow your institution’s normal accounting rules.
If your finance office prefers the invoice date to be in 2026, you can:
- Ask the travel agency to invoice after 1 January 2026, or
- Let your institution pre-finance and transfer the cost to the project after the start date.
The Commission confirms that booking tickets now and traveling in January is fully compliant.
