Examining Research in University Pedagogy: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Research on Teaching and Learning in Norwegian Academia
About the research project
University pedagogy staff are responsible for leading pedagogical training for educators (through courses, activities and conferences) and often define what constitutes research on teaching and learning in their institutions. Educators in higher education in Norway are required to be pedagogically competent and to use research on teaching and learning to inform how they teach. Whose research is included in this training and who are included as experts on university pedagogy in higher education in Norway? How equitable and inclusive is the field of university pedagogy?
The Examining Research in University Pedagogy: Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Research on Teaching and Learning in Norwegian Academia (ERUP) project is a research and development project focused on equity, diversity and inclusion in university pedagogy and research on teaching and learning in Norwegian higher education. The project investigates and reports on gender balance and diversity of UP staff working in Norwegian higher education and on gender balance and diversity of researchers whose scholarship is included in UP courses, activities and conferences. This research is used to inform the development of targeted professional development focused on equity, diversity and inclusion for university pedagogy staff at the University of Bergen. Additionally the project will develop an Open equity, diversity and inclusion resource for use in assessing gender balance and diversity for all university pedagogy programs in Norway.
