May 2024: Mprint goes to Canada
The Mprint team organised a panel on textual traditions and usage in East Africa during the conference Arts of the Indian Ocean held in Toronto in 2-4 May 2024.

The Arts of the Indian Ocean conference (external link) in Toronto brought together 75 experts on the production and usage of the Indian Ocean’s unique materialities and artistic expressions.
A panel was organized by the Mprint project to highlight the Mprint themes of manuscripts, Inscriptions and ritual life in the Indian Ocean.
Thank you to Zulfikar Hirji (external link), Ruba Kana’an (external link), Sarah Fee (external link) and Sanniah Jabeen (external link) and York University University of Toronto, Royal Ontario Museum for putting together this spectacular conference as well as for the opportunity to meet old and new colleagues and friends. Thank you also to the Aga Khan Museum (external link) in Toronto for hosting parts of the events.
