The course is thematically focused, giving a deeper insight into one particular subject, and the theme is subject to change for each course.

In 2026, the class will have the form of Summer School in Immunology within the SSI 2026 conference: www.ssi2026.no/ . The class will take place in Bergen.

The theme of 2026 HUIMM905 is: key models and technologies in immunological research.

In 2026, we offer partial conference registration grants for HUIMM905 participants for the amount of 2 000 NOK.

To be eligible for the support grant, you must:
- be enrolled in HUIMM905 and eligible for ECTS,
- submit an abstract to the conference and present your research,
- attend the Summer School and the conference in person.
Proof of conference registration and the abstract should be submitted to the class coordinator via piotr.mydel@uib.no by Registration Deadline.
PhD candidates will be priorities. Should funds be leftover at 18.05.26, additional announcement for Msc students will be posted.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the course the student should have obtained a deeper insight into a specific immunological field.

Place of Instruction

The venue for the course is usually a hotel or conference centre outside Bergen, this is decided before each course.

Required Previous Knowledge

The student should be at graduate or post-graduate level (have a BSc or equivalent)

Basic immunological knowledge is required

Basic knowledge of human biology

The registration deadline will be announced individually.

PhD-students specifically, but other students are welcome to participate.

The course is arranged at a hotel/conference center outside Bergen.

The expenses for each participant may vary, the cost that have to be covered is: registration, food and accommodation, travel.

We are striving to provide travel grants to cover the whole or part of the cost.

Abstract submission and presenting own work as poster and/or oral presentation during the conference.
