Course description
Objectives and Content
Learning Outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to read and write simple texts and have conversations about everyday topics in Mandarin.
The students- Will have acquired basic vocabulary and grammatical understanding- Will have acquired approximately 300 words connected with daily life and 160 new characters.

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance
This course has 5 at-home assignments. In order to be eligible to take the exam, students must turn in and have 4 of these assignments approved, and attend 75 % of the classes. In addition, the students must give and pass minimum one oral presentation in class in order to qualify for the exam.
The compulsory course assignments are valid for one semester after the semester of instruction.

The exam is offered in the same semester as the course as well as in the following semester for those who have completed the compulsory course assignments.
