Compulsory Assignments and Attendance
Mandatory attendance to all activities and implementation of all work tasks during the course must be achieved.
The term "approved" is used to display that the requirements are fullfilled
All teaching is mandatory. The student is responsible for reporting absences, and unexcused absences are not allowed. In addition to the attendance requirements, the academic requirements must be met, both in terms of the quality of the work and sufficient practice.
In this subject, mandatory activities are valid for two semesters.
It is not permitted to have more than two attempts at mandatory teaching in this subject.
Forms of Assessment
The practical work is continuously assessed both individually and collectively throughout the course. In addition there are various anonymous practical and theoretical tests. The assessments are done by the college of teachers who evaluates the student's achievements. Based on this, the students will be informed of the results through individual conversations on several occations. The final approval of the practical part of the course/subject is given if the learning outcome has been obtained.
There is a written, theoretical test at the end of the course. To be permitted to take this test, the student must have had her/his practical part of the course evaluated as "passed". To pass the theoretical test, the student must at least obtain 60% correct answers.
When the assessment method in a subject is a 'written test', two continuous tests will be arranged shortly for students without valid results. Students who have not achieved valid results after three attempts will be moved to lower classes. The three attempts that belong to each implementation of the subject are counted as one assessment attempt in accordance with UiB's regulations on studies ยง8-1 (1). Due to the short time between the regular and new test, complaints about grading will not be processed until the third attempt has been completed. If the third attempt is conducted as an oral test, the two previous written attempts will be the subject of the complaint process.
To achieve the evaluation "passed" for the whole course/subject, the practical part and theoretical test must have been evaluated as "passed".
A "passed" course/subject is mandatory for being permitted to commence treatment of patients in the clinic.
