Course description
Objectives and Content
This module deepens the exploration of mediating art practice through language and writing. You develop a sense of your own agency in relation to discourse and investigate how text and language critically support your own processes and positioning. Workshop activities are supported by lectures establishing historical/contextual frameworks, and consideration is given to ethical use of references, citations, and artificial intelligence within writing practice.
REF200 connects to your work in ART200 and is further supported by the theory components of the elective PRO modules.
REF modules are designed to position your practice in relation to histories and theories of practice, incrementally building from understanding the terrain to defining it in relation to your own artistic activities. Professional practice is included through emphasis on how writing and word-based communication is used in professional contexts.
