English language requirements for exchange students

All courses for exchange students are taught in English. We expect exchange students to have sufficient fluency to be able to follow courses from the start. Native speakers of English are exempted.

English requirements for general courses.

You are required to have at least a B2 level CEFR in English for all courses offered to exchange students, except for courses in English language and literature, which require a higher level.

Level B2 CEFR is equivalent to IELTS minimum score 5.0 or TOEFL min. We consider a nomination from your home university as confirmation of your English proficiency. 

English requirements for specific courses in English Language and Literature: ENG-courses. 

If you apply for courses in English Language and Literature, ENG-courses, you must document a minimum level of English proficiency equivalent to C1 CEFR.

IELTS

IELTS is an English language test developed and run by the British Council in partnership with IDP Education and Cambridge Assessment English. A minimum score of 7 is required.

TOEFL

TOEFL, Test of English as a Foreign Language, is a standardized academic English test to measure the English language ability of non-native speakers.

Internet-based test (iBT): 90

Paper-based test (PBT): 560
