Withdrawal from your exchange at UiB

Each semester, some students have to withdraw from their exchange for different reasons. Here are some important things to remember if you withdraw from your exchange to UiB during the application process.

How to withdraw from your exchange program

Notify UiB and home institution

It is very important that you notify both UiB and your home university about withdrawing from your exchange agreement. 

You can notify UIB by sending an email to  incoming@uib.no

There are no consequences for withdrawing, and you do not need to send us an explanation about why you are withdrawing.

Cancellation of housing agreement

You must notify SAMMEN directly about your withdrawal. UIB and Sammen are to separate organizations and it is therefore important to cancel your housing agreement as soon as possible and within the deadlines:

  • Autumn semester: 24 June
  • Spring semester: 30 November 

Cancellations after the deadline will be subjected to Sammen cancellation policies and regulations. UiB cannot interfere with Sammen’s cancellation policies and regulations.
