Research
My research interests are legal theory and methodology, and the relationship between law and society within civil law. I work specifically with bankruptcy and, to some extent, mortgages, and the relationship between these and other areas of civil law.
The HyValue project adresses the entire value chain for hydrogen, with the aim of facilitating hydrogen production, distribution, and use. The project must be viewed in light of the EU's and the Norwegian government's strategy to promote hydrogen as a green energy carrier in the future. My work is related to methodological and material questions about how to develop a regulatory framework for this new industry.
My doctoral thesis concerned the Norwegian equivalent to discharge of debtors by novation, with a strong methodological approach. Key questions included what it means to have an obligation and the debtor's freedom in relation to the creditor associated with the claim.
