COAST
COAST is a research center for climate, energy, and sustainability law with a thematic focus on the ocean, marine environment, and maritime-related activities. The center hosts a leading research community on legal frameworks and regulatory development for the green transition.
About the research centre
COAST conducts research across public and private law within climate, energy, and sustainability, with a particular focus on issues related to the ocean, marine environment, and maritime industries. Norwegian waters, including the Norwegian coast and the North Sea, constitute an important field of research for the center, but COAST will also engage with international waters and conduct comparative analyses with other countries. This includes aspects related to environmental law and nature conservation, industrial activities such as offshore energy, spatial and ocean planning, as well as business models and private law regulation..
