Self-service library – how it works
Who can use the self-service library
Self-service access requires a valid student or staff card. No registration is necessary.
All students and staff have access to the Library of Social Sciences, Music and Psychology, the Library of Law, and the Library of Science and Technology.
The Library of Medicine has access for students and staff at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
The Library of Fine Art and Design has access for students and staff at the Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design.
External users and visitors can only use the library during staffed opening hours.

How to access the self-service libraries
You let yourself into the library with your student or staff card and a PIN code.
During self-service hours you can:
- Borrow and return books using the self-service machines
- Use reading rooms and workspaces
- Use PCs and the wireless network
- Use the printers
Not available during self-service hours:
- Desk service and guidance
Which libraries have self-service access
All the libraries except the Library of Humanities offer self-service access.

Safety
Emergency (fire, health, serious incidents): Call the emergency numbers 110 (fire), 112 (police), 113 (medical).
Security guard service (e.g. unwanted incidents, access problems, suspected break-in): 55 58 80 81
Security cameras: Active around the clock, and recordings are stored in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
