tropEd

The network promotes student and staff mobility, interdisciplinary exchange, and shared quality standards, contributing to strengthened and sustainable health systems with a particular focus on disadvantaged populations. [troped.org] (external link) 

Through its jointly developed master’s programme and a wide range of accredited courses, tropEd enables students to benefit from the combined expertise of institutions worldwide and to gain competencies for working in multicultural and international health contexts. [troped.org] (external link) 

tropEd began as a European initiative in the early 1990s, was formally founded in 1996, and has since evolved into a global network for education in international and global health. 

Centre for International Health at the University of Bergen participates in the tropEd network as a non‑home institution, contributing to teaching and collaboration within this global academic partnership. 

Centre for International Health has been a member of the tropEd network for several years.   

As a non-home institution CIH offers elective courses for students, while the students are enrolled in a master’s programme in a home-institution.  

tropEd has 10 home institutions and 16 non-home initiations. They are present in 21 countries all over the world.
