Pottery is being analysed with ICP-MS, bone objects with ZooMS and metal for trace elements and lead isotopes. These analytical methods allow insight into the material properties of the finds in question, and thereby allow the answering of specific research questions.

We received competent help from Kathrine Bekhøj Pedersen. An archaeology student in Aarhus, she visited the Borgund Kaupang Project as an intern, and assisted in the sampling process, while getting insight into how a multidisciplinary archaeological project works on a day to day basis. Thank you for your contribution to the project, Kathrine!
