These pieces were originally registered as seven different artefacts. They comprise of both wood and iron and when I took a closer look, the object looked quite similar, mushroom shaped end while tha handle part was narrowever. I was able to pussle them together and saw they all belonged to the same artefact. This is a knife handle, with part of the blade still preserved. The wood used for the handle was oak, which is not common to find within the Borgund assemblage. This knife might therefore have been brought to Borgund from another area in Norway.
