The Border and Migration Anthropology Collective (BAM)
The Border and Migration Anthropology Collective (BAM) is a research group based at the department of Social Anthropology, UiB. With a mix of PhD candidates, post docs and professors, BAM has migration and borders as its primary focus and serves as a meeting place for those in the department whose research and interests circle around these topics.
About the research group
Through regular reading seminars, the group discusses central theoretical aspects and developments within these research field(s). It is also an arena for the development of new research projects, and for presenting and discussing ongoing research projects and publications.
Group members have carried out research and conducted fieldwork in Scandinavia, Kenya, France, Mexico, the US, Sudan, Egypt, Spain, Germany, Greece ETC, and members are leading or involved in several exciting research projects going on, such as PrecaNord, ASYKNOW.
